Let’s Talk Bigfoot with The Vogel Brothers


Bigfoot and Mountain Lions of Western Massachusetts and New England


Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, & Mountain Lions, Cougars, Eastern Ghost Cats of New England are some of the most enduring and enigmatic folkloric figures in the Northeast. Particularly in Western MA, because of our diverse forests and farm landscapes, local rivers and greenspace surrounding our mountains around the Appalachian/ Taconic Trail – corridor and the Sylvi O. Conte Fish and Wildlife Refuge.


National River watershed and beyond. Reports of large, bipedal, ape‑like creatures have circulated for a couple hundred years. 1765 being the first known written account in Great Barrington, MA. In general, witnesses describe what they’ve seen. Its towering height and width, extremely loud howling, whooping sounds, whistles, vocals, wood knocking and an uncanny ability to move silently through dense woodland.
